The major AI labs are all in San Francisco. 90% of the world's developers aren't.
If everyone agrees a community is worth investing in, you're too late.
WorldImpact.AI is a distributed network of AI research chapters. Each chapter is embedded in its local tech community, working on problems that matter there. Manila was first. Singapore is forming. More chapters are coming across Southeast Asia and beyond.
The model: immerse in the community, understand real constraints, build infrastructure that works, make it sustainable. We flew 600 miles to Davao to lead a sprint. Developers contributed real code to real projects. They stayed until the end. They made sure we didn't leave hungry.
The problem was never talent. It was access.
